In 1988, when the import of supercomputers from the US was restricted, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) was set up to develop them. They also started building Indian Language Computing Solutions and undertaking research in the fields. The institute is an autonomous society linked to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, India. It offers one of a kind programmes across India.

They started offering courses around 20 years ago, with a batch of only 20 students but have now expanded and have 50 training centres across the country. They offer formal training programmes including M Tech and MBA in Information Technology, Programme for Advanced Computer Education, 6-month Postgraduate Diploma programmes in 13 subjects and Corporate Training Programmes.

These courses are conducted in the following cities - Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Noida, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.

Students pay fees from INR 90,000-1,50,00 for a PG Diploma, depending on the course.

CDAC Admission Process

MBA applicants must have a graduate degree with approximately 60% in related fields. The candidates can apply online on the GGSIP University website. A CET test is conducted for students. The selected students will be notified and called for counselling.

Students are eligible for MTech if they hold an undergraduate degree in one of the following streams - BE/BTech in Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/Applied Electronics/Instrumentation & Control Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/MSc in Physics(with specialization in Electronics).

Students are eligible for PG Diploma courses if they have a recognised undergraduate degree in a relevant subject.

Companies that recruit from the MBA programmes in information technology include Textron, Varun Beverages, HCL, Reliance, Velocity Software, Fibcom, CPA Global, India Infoline, Merino Services and Ridings India among many others.

MTech programme places students in companies such as TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Infosys, HCL, Honeywell, Ericson, Intel.

The order of preferences for courses/centers is very important. You will be allotted seats as per the order of preferences of courses/centers given by you and your C-CAT ranks.

Students who wish to withdraw their admission after the commencement of the course may do so by submitting the required withdrawal forms that are available at their center. Emails in this regard are not acceptable by the institute.

Any such requests are not entertained by the institute unless it is a medical condition or any other unavoidable circumstance as per the institute’s consideration.
