Established in 1997, Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) Chennai is an autonomous private institute known for imparting quality education in the field of Engineering. The Institute was founded under the aegis of Rajalakshmi Educational Trust. It has secured a place among the top 10 per cent of all technical institutes located across India in the NIRF 2020 Engineering ranking survey.

Initially, REC offered three engineering programmes at UG level. The total seat intake was 180. Things have changed tremendously in the last 20 years, at present, it offers 12 UG and 10 PG programmes. Not only this, but nine engineering departments of REC have also been recognised as the research centres of Anna University.

It has also signed MoUs with various international universities for student/faculty exchange programmes.

REC is affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE. It is accredited by NBA and NAAC. NAAC has awarded A Grade to this institute. Apart from these government bodies, the institute has been accredited by some top companies such as TCS, Wipro, Cognizant and Ashok Leyland.

The Institute offers BE/BTech, ME/MTech, MBA and PhD programmes in various specialisations.

REC Chennai Admission Process

Admission process for various UG and PG courses offered by Rajalakshmi Engineering College starts after the declaration of TNEA and TANCET results.
