Delhi University Admission Process

DU is highly selective and it is considered very competitive to secure admission in DU. Delhi University admission process 2022 is different for entrance-based and merit-based programmes. However, all the aspirants must register on a centralised admission portal available on the official website during the admission cycle to apply for a programme. For online registration, an applicant must fill in the application form and pay the application fee to complete the process.

Admission to merit-based courses depends on the 'best of four' aggregate obtained by the applicant in the higher secondary qualifying exam. Delhi University Cutoff

Delhi University (DU) announced its first cut-off list for UG admission on October 10, 2020 followed by six more between October 17 and December 5. Lady Sri Ram College pegged the cutoff at 100% in the first list for three courses, namely BA (Hons) Economics, BA (Hons) Political Science and BA (Hons) Psychology. It is after a gap of five years that a DU college has hit 100% cutoff. Last time, it was in 2015 when the College of Vocational Studies and Indraprastha College for Women had announced their cutoffs at 100% for BSc (Hons) in Computer Science. DU cutoff 2020 states the minimum score at which the different affiliated colleges will grant admission to the candidates for various UG programmes offered by them. Comparing the trends of the last three academic years, most of the colleges have witnessed a jump in all the four cutoffs released for different courses.

This year, over 3.5 lakh students have applied for 70,000 DU seats and the majority of them are from the CBSE board. But while DU releases eight-nine cut off lists every year, depending on the number of vacant seats, this year, it will release a total of five cutoff lists and one special/ spot merit list. Candidates will be given four days to complete the process of online admission (it will be held online this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic). The new session commenced from November 18.
