A candidate must have passed an examination at the end of the 10 + 2 scheme with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10 + 2 level examination from any State board or its equivalent in CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/IB or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate from Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956.

Note: Additionally the student will have to meet the minimum qualifying marks for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) test as per Council of Architecture. 

A. A first professional undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design disciplines with at least four full-time academic years in duration offered by a recognized University or Institution.

B. i) A postgraduate degree in any of the disciplines like Botany, Ecology, Horticulture, Geography, Agriculture, Forestry, Geology, Hydrology or similar natural sciences of a minimum of two years of full-time study with a prescribed bridge course*.

ii) 4 years Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Planning with a prescribed bridge course*.

Minimum requirement to apply for the program is 55% aggregate marks for general category candidates and 50% aggregate marks for reserved category candidates in the qualifying degree.

Two years professional and/or teaching experience along with computer drawings skills like CADD software is desirable.

Applicants for the M.Plan. program in the general category shall have a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories shall have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in qualifying degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University / Institution.

Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, Civil Engineering/Technology, Environmental Engineering, Construction Technology, Planning, Urban Design.

Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering/Technology, Environmental Engineering, Science/Technology in Geomatics/Geoinformatics/Geographical Information System, Geography, Economics, Sociology or Social work, Environmental Science.

• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture is mandatory.
• A professional Master's (or equivalent) degree in the areas of Architecture, Architectural Design, Conservation, History & Theory, or Landscape Architecture is Preferred.Applicants with a Master’s degree in the areas of Social Sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Environmental Studies, Arts, History), Art History, or Civil Engineering/M.Tech are also eligible on the condition that the Bachelor’s degree is in Architecture. Applicants who have completed a 1-year/2-semester or 2-year/4-semester Master's degree program after Bachelor's in Architecture are eligible to apply.
• Applicants in the general category shall have a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories shall have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in Master's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University/Institution.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Technology, Environmental Engineering, Construction Technology, Planning, Urban Design, Architecture is required.
  
  
• A professional Master's (or equivalent) degree in fields related to Planning (Urban planning, Infrastructure, Housing, Transport, or any other planning programs) or in Urban Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering/Technology, Environmental Engineering, Science/Technology in Geomatics/Geoinformatics/Geographical Information System, or Master’s degree in Geography, Economics, Sociology or Social work, Environmental Science, Climate Studies,  Development Studies, Policy Studies, Political Science is also acceptable. Applicants who have completed a 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree with a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply.
  
  
• Applicants without a background in Planning degree may be suggested additional courses related to Planning along with the PhD coursework.
  
  
• Applicants in the general category shall have a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks, and those in the reserved categories shall have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in Master's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University/Institution.
