Candidates must pass the admission test administered by National Law University Visakhapatnam in order to be considered for Ph.D courses. Whereas for admission to NLU Visakhapatnam LLM programme CLAT PG scores are considered.

BA LLB Hons
1. There will be no upper age limit for UG Programme in CLAT.
2. As regards the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2), the candidates must have secured:
- Forty-five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories, and
- Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) categories.
3. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April are also eligible to appear in CLAT online examination. However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
4. The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.
5. In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:
- Higher marks in the component /section on legal aptitude in the CLAT exam.
- Higher age.
- The computerized draw of lots.
Ph.D Law
A Master's Degree in Law from any recognised University having scored a minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate With a view to encourage interdisciplinary studies and research with strong legal component, the APUL encourages candidates from other disciplines also to register for Ph.D. full time programme.
Ph.D Law Part Time
A Master's Degree in Law from any recognized University having scored a minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate With a view to encouraging interdisciplinary studies and research with a strong legal component, the APUL encourages candidates from other disciplines also to register for a Ph.D. full-time programme.
LLM Constitutional Law
- An LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty five percent (55%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May are also eligible to apply.
- No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT.
LLM Commercial Law

LLD
The eligibility criteria for L.L.D courses differ from college to college. Some colleges state that candidates can secure a position in the college if they have completed a PhD in law from a recognised university. Candidates can study in a university which could be in India or abroad but must have relevant experience in the field of law. Few colleges also specify candidates to have a teaching experience of five to ten years in order to get a position for L.L.D courses in these colleges.
Whereas some of the colleges look for academic achievements in the field of law to screen students for the L.L.D course. Apart from these candidates also have an option of getting admissions in colleges on the basis of merit obtained in LLM course. The minimum aggregate required in LLM is 50 percent to get admission into L.L.D courses offered by various universities
