Doon University, the state university was established in 2005 is located at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Located over a 55 acre area, the university has introverted indoors from the traditional method of paper based certificates and diplomas to the info-tech based programme of today’s modern world. NAAC accredited and recognised by UGC, Doon University is a reputed university of the region. For total enrolment of blessed students 2,213 and total faculty members 34, the university ensures academic environment for the stimulation of students. It teaches 67 courses in 16 programmes of study that range across the spectrum of social and natural sciences and humanities, arts, and business disciplines, environmental management, media studies, economics, languages, and others.
Believing in vision, Doon University has been having an array of modern infrastructures to support academic activities. The Central Library as established closed 2009 govern with large number of textbooks, reference books & journals, printed as well as in electronic media form. University also have different hostels for boys and girls and it has single occupancy accommodation facilities with all contemporary facilities. This is through facility provision in order to enhance students’ physical activities and achievement. Canteen is in a position to provide meals and feeds for students and staff.
The university has a vast range of courses which cuts across the different levels of learning. At the moment the University offers sixty-seven courses in full-time undergraduate, postgraduate, and integrated schemes. The courses cover as many areas as environment and sustainability, media and communications, economy, languages, physics and sciences.

According to the programmes offered, the admission process of the Doon University is different. Submissions for all the undergraduate and post graduate programmes are usually on merit prepared from marks in the qualifying examination. For particular programmes in the university, the students go through Group Discussions and Personal Interviews especially for MBA. Doon University accepts scores from National level entrance exam like JEE Main for Engineering and GATE for post graduate Engineering courses.

MA Media and Communication Studies
Graduate in any subject from a recognized University (established/approved by UGC)with at least 50 % marks (45 % for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
Preference will be given to the students from Doon University having B.A. (Honors) obtained through M.A. Integrated Programme in Media & Communication Studies. The remaining seats will be available for students from other institutions.
MBA
A candidate must have passed the Graduation in any subject from a recognized University (established/approved by UGC) with at least 50 % marks (45 % for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
M.Sc Environmental Science
A candidate must have passed the Graduation in basic or applied sciences from a recognized University (established/approved by UGC) with minimum 50 % marks (45 % for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
M.Sc Environmental Science with Specialization in Natural Resource Management
A candidate must have passed with the Graduation in basic or applied sciences from a recognized University (established/approved by UGC) with minimum 50 % marks (45 % for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
M.Tech Environmental Technology
- A candidate must have passed the M.Sc. in Environmental Science or basic or applied science with minimum 50% marks (45 % for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
- B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and allied Engineering disciplines.
- Candidates having valid GATE score will be called for interview.
MA Spanish
A candidate must have passed the Graduate in any stream with Chinese/French or Spanish or German language as one of the elective subjects or Diploma in any of these languages from a recognized University/institution with a minimum 50 %marks (45 % for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
