Gujarat University, founded in 1949, is one of the oldest and largest universities in the state of Gujarat. Located in Ahmedabad, it was established under the Gujarat University Act, to provide higher education and promote research and development.
Gujarat University (GU) is a government-owned co-ed university. Gujarat University Ahmedabad has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been accredited by NAAC. Gujarat University Ahmedabad has been approved by the BCI and AICTE, New Delhi.
Gujarat University offers courses in Arts, Science, Management, Education and Commerce and more streams. Some of the courses offered by GU Ahmedabad include B.Sc M.Sc, B.Com LLB, MA, M.Sc, PGD, M.Tech, M.Com, M.P.Ed, MCA, M.Ed, LLM, and Ph.D courses.
Gujarat University offers admission to the courses based on merits of the previous qualifying examinations. Admission to MCA programme is done based on the Gujarat PGCET scores and PhD requires the candidate to qualify the interview round conducted by GU Ahmedabad.
Gujarat University has a placement cell that looks into the placement activities of the college and also maintains a good placement record over the years. GU Ahmedabad offers many facilities to its students including hostel facilities, sports facilities, library, transport facilities and many more.

MBA Integrated
A candidate must have passed the HSC or Its equivalent with English as Compulsory subject or Account, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics with 55% Percentage or above from any recognized board.
M.Com
A student shall have passed the qualifying examination in the respective subject s prescribed by Gujarat University from time to time from any university recognized by UGC.
- BCom/BBA and equivalent degree of any recognized university.
- A student who has passed the qualifying examination from other than Gujarat University shall be required to obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from Gujarat University at the time of final admission.
M.Com Finance and Financial Services
A student shall have passed the qualifying examination in the respective subject s prescribed by Gujarat University from time to time from any university recognized by UGC.
- BCom/BBA and equivalent degree of any recognized university.
- A student who has passed the qualifying examination from other than Gujarat University shall be required to obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from Gujarat University at the time of final admission.
MA Psychology
- The candidate shall have passed the qualifying examination in the respective subjects prescribed by Gujarat University from time to time from any university recognized by UGC.
- B.A. & equivalent degree of any recognized university.
- A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination from other than Gujarat University shall be required to obtain Provision Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from Gujarat University before registration.
LLM Intellectual Property Rights
The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Three Years’ LL.B. or Five Years Integrated Law Programme from University recognized by the Bar Council of India.
M.Ed
The candidate, who has completed B.Ed. from UGC recognized university and NCTE recognized college, will be eligible for getting admission.
MCA
A candidate must have passed in any bachelor's degree with Mathematics at Intermediate (10+2) level or should have studied Mathematics or Statistics or Business Mathematics as one of the subjects at graduation level.
M.P.Ed
A candidate shall be eligible to appear in admission test for MPES course if he/she has passed any one of following examinations with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST or sports person who have won the medal at the national/ International tournament in the preceding three years).
- The examination for the degree of Bachelor of Physical Education or B.P.E. Integrated of Four years duration any recognized university or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto
- The examination with 50% marks for the post-graduate diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) (Old) of not less than one year's duration of any recognized University or a board appointed/approved by the Education Department of the state
- The examination for a degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) of not less than one year's course of a recognised university, after graduation
- Should be Physically fit for daily heavy load Physical activities and should not have a Physical deformity or mental disability.
