Established in 2016, Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune was founded by the Indian government and industry partners. IIIT Pune provides engineering courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. IIIT Pune is recognised as an "Institute of National Importance".
Courses at Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune include B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D programmes. Candidates seeking admission to the IIIT Pune B.Tech course need to appear for JEE Main examination, while for admission to M.Tech programme candidates must appear for GATE examination.
Financial assistance is provided to candidates in the form of scholarships. IIIT Pune has been ranked 72nd in the Engineering (Private) category and 75th in the Engineering category by the Times India Ranking 2023. IIIT Pune is approved by AICTE and is accredited by NAAC with a B++ rating and acknowledged by the Maharashtra government's Directorate of Technical Education.
