MBA
- An undergraduate/ bachelor's degree with a min aggregate of 50%(45% for SC/ST/PWD quota).
- The undergraduate degree obtained by the candidate must comprise of a minimum of three years of education after the higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
- In case the candidate is awarded CGPA, the equivalent percentage would be based on the methodology provided by the institution/university from where the undergraduate degree was obtained.
- Candidates appearing in their final year of under graduation can also apply for the IIMs candidature, provided the Head of the Institution provides a certified document stating the concerned details.
Candidates of the above criteria will not be eligible for admission if he/she does not submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2019 from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that they have completed all of the required (the result can be awaited) for obtaining the undergraduate degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
Executive Ph.D
- Candidates for the Executive doctoral programme in Management should have minimum of 5 years of work experience by 31st March of the target year of education.
Candidates for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE, or any equivalent qualification from recognised foreign universities or institutions.
- Master’s degree or Post Graduate Diploma or its equivalent in any discipline with first class (or)
- B.Tech/4 Years Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent (or)
- Any professional qualification such as CA/ICWA/CS with a B.Com/Degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average.
In addition, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level.
MBA Human Resource Management
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent [CGPA 45% in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by IIM Ranchi at the time of registration) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
Admissions for such candidates will be confirmed only when the candidate submits the mark- sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university with at least 50% marks (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category). It is mandatory for a final-year student, who is provisionally admitted, to submit the mark sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor’s degree examination held on or before a date as specified by the Academic Programme Office at the time of registration (including supplementary, if any), to be eligible for admission. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate will be provided by the Academic Programme Office at the time of registration. Non-fulfilment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. IIM Ranchi would not allow any candidate to join the Programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor’s degree on or before the date as specified by the Academic Programme office at the time of registration. IIM Ranchi may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, maybe even after the students have been admitted and classes have started.
The admissions/selection process for candidates for the Postgraduate programme in management at IIM Ranchi is through CAT only. Admission is made through the Common Admissions Process (CAP).
Ph.D Management
A candidate for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE, or any equivalent qualification from recognized foreign universities or institutions.
- Master’s degree or Post Graduate Diploma or its equivalent in any discipline with first class (or)
- B.Tech/4 Years Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent (or)
- Any professional qualification such as CA/ICWA/CS with a B.Com/Degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average.
In addition, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level. Work experience in industry or academics, though not mandatory, will be given due credit in the selection process.
Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30th June 2023.
