Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali is a government institution established in 2007 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. IISER Mohali is an Institute of National Importance approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). IISER Mohali offer courses at undergraduate and doctoral levels. IISER Mohali offers (BS-MS) Dual Degree programmes at the UG level and the PhD degree programmes are offered at the doctoral level. It also offers Integrated PhD programme.
Admission to the BS-MS dual degree programme and other courses offered at IISER Mohali is entrance-based. The selection process for the IISER Mohali BS-MS dual degree programme is done based on the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). However, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) and IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Advanced) scores will not be considered for IISER UG admission.
As per the IISER Mohali NIRF 2024 report, 10 UG students were placed with a median salary package of Rs. 8,67,000 during Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali placements 2023. Various campus facilities are available at IISER Mohali such as medical facilities, library, sports facilities, IT infrastructure, auditorium, transport facilities and guest rooms.

- Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI to apply for IAT 2024.
- Candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination with science stream in 2022, 2023 or 2024 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE.
- Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD require to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. The applicant should have a Master’s degree / B.Tech / MBBS / M.Tech / M.Pharm with a good academic record (at least 60% and above) and should be GATE / CSIR-UGC (JRF/LS) / ICMR-JRF / ICAR-NET / DBT-JRF / DBT-BINC / DST-INSPIRE qualified in the relevant subject or other national-level fellowship or sponsored fellowships by private or state agencies.
Ph.D Physical Sciences
The applicant should have a Master’s degree / B.Tech / M.Tech with a good academic record (at least a high second class).
Ph.D Earth and Environmental Sciences
An applicant should have a M.Sc/M.
