IISER Tirupati BS-MS admission open for the year 2024. The last date to apply for BS-MS programme is May 13, 2024.
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati was established in 2015 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education. The institution offers several programmes at undergraduate and doctoral levels. To get eligible for IISER Tirupati programmes, students must meet the required eligibility criteria as per the choice of the programme.
IISER Tirupati also has a dedicated placement department that assists final year students to get placed in leading organisations, offering competitive salary packages. Apart from providing placement guidance to students, IISER Tirupati also provides a wide range of amenities to the students including Gymnasium, Health Centre, Hostel accommodations, IT infrastructure and many others.

IISER Tirupati Location
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati is located at Karakambadi Road, Opposite Shri Ram Engineering College, Rami Reddy Nagar, Mangalam, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. There are various modes of transport to reach IISER Tirupati. One can travel by air, road or rail to reach the institute. The nearest railway station is Tirupati Railway Station. The distance between the railway station and the institute is 8.9 km and would take around 19 minutes from cab or auto.
The nearest bus stop to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati is S V College Bus Stop. It is located at a distance of 400 metres and would take 2 minutes from the bus stop. Tirupati International Airport is the nearest airport and is located 12.5 km from the institute. It would take approximately 20 minutes from cab or auto to reach IISER Tirupati.

BS MS
- Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI to apply for IAT 2024.
- Candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination with science stream in 2022, 2023 or 2024 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE.
- Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD require to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Candidates belonging to other categories require to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
NOTE: The students from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), from Kashmir division/Winter Zone areas of Jammu division and the U.T. of Ladakh, who appeared in their Class XII or equivalent level examination in Dec 2021*, are also eligible to apply for the IAT 2024, provided they satisfy all the other eligibility criteria.
Ph.D Biology
- Students with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage including all subjects) or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale in Master's degree in any branch of Science Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics/Biological Sciences/ Ecological Sciences/Agricultural Sciences/ Psychology
- M.Tech/ M.VSc or MBBS degree or any equivalent degree.
- Candidates with BE/B.Tech degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage including all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale can also apply.
- IISER BS-MS (All IISERs) Dual degree students with CGPA >= 8.0 are eligible without the essential eligibility criteria listed on the right column.
Ph.D Chemistry
Students with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; with all subjects) or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale in master's degree in any branch of Science: Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Biology or ME/M.Tech or any equivalent degree.

Candidates with BE/B.Tech degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale can also apply

- Students with a minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage including all subjects) or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale in Master's degree in any branch of Science: Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Biological Sciences/ M.E./ M.Tech. or any equivalent degree.
- Candidates with B.E./ B.Tech degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage including all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale can also apply.
- IISER BS-MS (All IISERs) Dual degree students with CGPA >= 8.0 are eligible without the additional eligibility criteria listed on the right column.
Ph.D Physics
Students with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale in Master's degree in any branch of Science: Physics/Astronomy & Astrophysics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Biology or M.E./M.Tech. or any equivalent degree.
Candidates with BE/B.Tech degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale can also apply.
IISER BS-MS (All IISERs) Dual degree students with CGPA >= 8.0 are eligible without the essential eligibility criteria listed on the right column.
MS PhD Biology Integrated
Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in Bachelor's in Biological Sciences (All areas) /Ecological Sciences/ Mathematics/ Chemistry /Physics / Medical Sciences / Engineering or any equivalent degree.
Ph.D Earth and Climate Science
Students with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; with all subjects) or CGPA 6.0 out of 10-point scale in master degree in:
- Geology/Geophysics/Physics/Meteorology/Atmospheric Science/Space Physics/Applied Physics/ Astrophysics/Planetary sciences/ Environment Sciences
- IISER BS-MS (All IISERs) Dual degree students with CGPA >= 8.0 are eligible without the essential eligibility criteria listed on the right column.
MS PhD Chemistry Integrated
Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in B. Sc. (General / B.Sc. majoring in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics & Biology), Engineering (BE/BTech) or any equivalent degree.
MS PhD Physics Integrated
Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in B.Sc./B. Tech./B.E. or any equivalent degree.
MS PhD Mathematics Integrated
