The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) Izatnagar was established in 1889. IVRI is one of the research institutions dedicated to livestock research and development of the region and an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institution. The Institute has been conferred the status of Deemed to be University with effect from 1983. The IVRI Izatnagar is ranked 5th amongst Agriculture and Allied Sector by NIRF Ranking in the year 2024.
Indian Veterinary Research Institute Bareilly awards degrees to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in more than 20 disciplines of veterinary and animal sciences, livestock products technology, basic sciences and extension education. The IVRI Bareilly offers courses for B.V.Sc, M.V.SC and Ph.D programmes in veterinary preventive medicine, animal husbandry, veterinary biological products, animal reproduction, poultry husbandry, medicine and surgery, zoo and wild animal health care and management, meat and meat products technology. The IVRI Bareilly UG admissions are based on the NEET entrance examination scores. The Indian Veterinary Research Institute Izatnagar postgraduate admission considers ICAR IEEA examination ranks.
The Indian Veterinary Research Institute Bareilly Ph.D admissions are considered based on All India Competitive Examination conducted by ICAR through NTA. The IVRI undertakes basic, advanced and applied research through 98 externally funded projects. The institute also addresses international research projects on animal health and production systems. The IVRI Izatnagar has a placement cell which provides placement drives and internship opportunities the students to start their careers in their chosen field. The IVRI Bareilly offers scholarships to deserving candidates based on their merits, academic performance and for some specific categories.
