Ph.D Information Technology and Society
- For Ph.D in Information Technology & Society, a masters degree in engineering, social sciences, medicine, or public health is required.
- The candidates are encouraged to provide a valid score in GATE, JRF, NET, GRE, or GMAT examinations along with their applications. Those without such a score may apply as well. Shortlisted candidates may have to take a written examination at IIITB when called for an interview.
Ph.D Networking Communications and Signal Processing Part Time
As an admission criterion placed for Doctor of Philosophy degree by the University Grants Commission, we require applicants to take either a national entrance examination, as specified by concerned research domain, or a domain-specific entrance examination at IIITB before the interview.
M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
- The minimum qualification for admission to any of M.Tech. at IIITB is 65% in four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent).
- Candidates who have first-division degree in the 3-year undergraduate programme followed by M.Sc with first-division in any of the physical sciences, or an MCA degree with first class, can apply
- Besides the above-mentioned criteria, students also need to have first division or equivalent in 12th (or equivalent) grade.
Ph.D Software Engineering Part Time
Applicants to the Doctor of Philosophy program should hold a Masters degree, as well as have a good academic and, where applicable, technical track record.
Ph.D Data Sciences
- Applicants to the Ph.D programmes should hold a Masters degree, as well as have a good academic and technical track record.
- For applicants to Ph.D in Data Science, a Masters degree in engineering (M.E., M.Tech. or equivalent) is required.
- A valid GATE (Computer Science) score is recommended for applicants. Applicants to Data Sciences domain, without a valid GATE score or with low GATE scores, shall take a 45-minute written examination conducted by the faculty members of the domain

A written examination may be conducted for shortlisted candidates when they come for an interview.
