Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth Karad, formerly known as Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), established in 2008 is a “Deemed To Be University” located in located in Western Maharashtra. BDS
Provisions of this bye - law , an applicant for securing admission to the First B.D.S. Course shall be governed by the provisions of bye - law as under:-
i) shall be an Indian National and has completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the College;
ii) has passed the (10+2) Higher Secondary Schools Certificate Examination or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto;
OR has passed an examination equivalent to the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) of any recognized Board / University situated in India;
OR has passed Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Examination;
OR has passed an Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examination;
OR has passed examination from any School / College situated abroad, as equivalent thereto shall submit equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
iii) An applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50 % marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination.
iv) In respect of the applicant belonging to Schedule Castes / Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together shall be 40%.
v) Appearance at the NEET is absolutely necessary for admissions to the first year of MBBS course, which is a University of all India character.
vi) An applicant shall qualify at the NEET.
vii) Qualification in NEET shall be the eligibility in the case of applicants, who are Foreign Nationals / Non-resident Indians / Persons of Indian Origin.
Provided that school/college from outside Maharashtra State is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or the Council of Boards of School Examinations in India shall be eligible for admission to the First B.D.S. with fulfilling the conditions of subjects and of passing with 50% in the individual subject (4 iii) as above.
Provided that whose names are included in the Merit List, prepared on the basis of marks obtained by him/her in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English individually in the CET, conducted by the University and those candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in the CET (40% marks for candidates belonging to Backward Class ) shall be considered eligible for provisional admission to the First B.D.S.
MBBS
He/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the first day of July of the year when the prescribed academic session of the said course is to commence.
Qualifying Examination:
He/she has passed the qualifying examination as under
a. The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education. Note: Where the course midterm is not as prescribed for 10 +2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one-year pre-professional training before admission to the Medical College.
OR
b. The Intermediate examination in science of an Indian University / Board of other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
OR
(c) The pre-professional / pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination or the pre-university or an equivalent examination. The pre-professional / pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject.
OR
(d) The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects o\provided the examination is a “University Examination” and candidate has passed 10 + 2 with English at a level not less than a core course.
OR
(e) B. Sc. examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany Zoology) and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
OR
(f) Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate science examination of an Indian University Board, taking Physics, Chemistry, and Biology including a practical test in each of these subject and English. Note: The Pre-medical course may be conducted either at Medical College or a Science College.
- Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission to MBBS Course.
- After the 10+2 course is introduced, the integrated courses should be abolished.
- Candidates who have passed “Physical Science” instead of Physics and Chemistry as two separate subjects are not eligible for admission to MBBS course as per Medical Council Of India.
Marks:
a. In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to MBBS course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and must have obtained not less than 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be not less than 40% instead of 50%.
b. In case of admission on the basis of competitive entrance examination, a candidate must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and must have Obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination and in addition, must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of such competitive entrance examination by securing not less than 50% marks in the competitive examination. In respect of candidates
belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination be not less than 40% instead of 50% as stated above.
BPT
MD Anatomy
i) “A candidate will be eligible for registration for Post Graduate Degree, if he has completed satisfactorily one year rotating internship after passing Final M.B.B.S. Examination and has got himself registered with the State Medical Council.”
ii) No person shall be registered for the Post Graduate Degree course unless such a person is in a position to work as a full time Resident student for the period applicable in his case.
iii) The candidate will be selected according to the existing rules and regulations issued by the Medical Council of India.
iv) The academic merit, for admission to degree and diploma courses shall be on the basis of merit as determined by the NEET provided further that minimum percentile of marks for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Course shall be 50 percentile or as decided by the Govt. of India at the entrance test.
v) The period of regular course of study for the Post Graduate Degree shall be of three years for Post graduate Degree and two years for Post graduate Diploma after successful completion of one year’s rotational internship
Provided, that the period of study shall be less by one year in the case of students having a recognized two year post graduate diploma course in the same subject.
Student, so selected for admission to post graduate medical course shall possess recognized MBBS degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India, or any of the State Medical Councils or should obtain the same within one month from the date of his admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.
MD Community Medicine

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
• Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
• Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:

- Ophthalmic Nursing
- Leprosy Nursing
- TB Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing
- Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing
- Community Health Nursing
- Cancer Nursing
- Orthopaedic Nursing
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
M.Sc Biotechnology
i) Applicants must have passed B. Sc. with minimum 50% marks.
- With Biotechnology/Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Zoology/Botany as principal subject or with Biochemistry/Microbiology/Botany/Zoology as subsidiary subjects at B. Sc. II level for M. Sc. Biotechnology.
- With Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Biotechnology as principal subject or with Microbiology or Botany/Zoology or any Biological subject as subsidiary subject at B. Sc. II level for M. Sc. Microbiology.
ii) No person shall be registered for the Post Graduate Degree course unless such a person is in a position to work as a full time student for the period applicable in the case.
iii) The candidate will be selected according to the existing rules and regulations in the Constituent College/Institution concerned.
iv) The number of students registered will be in accordance with the rules and regulations shall be selected strictly on the basis of their academic merit.
v) The academic merit, for admission to degree courses shall be on the basis of merit as determined by the competitive test conducted by the University on all India basis.
Provided further that minimum percentage of marks for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Course shall be 50% at the entrance test.
M.Sc Microbiology
i) Applicants must have passed B. Sc. with minimum 50% marks
- With Biotechnology/Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Zoology/Botany as principal subject or with Biochemistry/Microbiology/Botany/Zoology as subsidiary subjects at B. Sc. II level for M. Sc. Biotechnology.
