Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior was established in 1957 by the Ministry of Education & Culture, Government of India as Lakshmibai College of Physical Education (LCPE). The LNIPE Gwalior was given the status of “Deemed to be University” in the year 1995 and was renamed to its current name Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE).

Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education imparts education in the stream of arts, humanities and social sciences, education and sciences, management and business administration. LNIPE Gwalior offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. LNIPE Gwalior courses include diploma, B.P.Ed, P.G.D, M.P.Ed, M.A, M.Sc and PhD courses. The LNIPE Gwalior accepts scores of the CUET UG and CUET PG examinations for the admission process of B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed., and MA programmes.
