Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai was established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act VI of 2014. MNLU Mumbai is recognised as an institute of national importance. The MNLU Mumbai offers BA, LLB (Hons), PGD, Diploma, LLM, M.A and Ph.D courses in the branch of law.
Admissions to BA LLB course is through valid CLAT Exam scores. For admission to the LLM courses at MNLU, candidates must have valid scores in CLAT-PG. It must be noted that before applying for courses at MNLU Mumbai students must meet the desired eligibility criteria and cutoff requirement of the course.
MNLU Mumbai has a placement cell to aid the candidates in getting job opportunities. MNLU Mumbai awards scholarships assistance under the MahaDBT scholarship. MNLU Mumbai has been approved by BCI and UGC.

MA Mediation and Conflict Resolution
A candidate who has passed a Bachelor's degree of 3 years duration (all disciplines or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university.
BA LLB Hons
- There will be no upper age limit for UG Programme in CLAT 2022.
- As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured:
- Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
- Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2022 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2022 examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
- The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.
- In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:
- Higher marks in the component / section on legal aptitude in the CLAT 2022 exam;
- Higher age;
- Computerised draw of lots.
LLM Corporate and Commercial Law
- An LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty five percent (55%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May are also eligible to apply.
- No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT.
LLM Constitutional and Administrative Law
- An LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty five percent (55%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May are also eligible to apply.
- No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT.
LLM Maritime Laws
- An LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty five percent (55%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May are also eligible to apply.
- No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT.
Ph.D Law
- Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. The program shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
- Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
PG Diploma in Litigation Lawyering and Law firm Management
a) Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent Degree in any discipline from any recognized University; or
b) Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Graduation are also eligible to apply.
PG Diploma in Crime Investigation medical Jurisprudence and Forensic Science
a)The course is open to students (UG and PG), Research Scholars and Academicians and working professionals.
b) Students enrolled in an undergraduate Law program who have passed the second year and are currently in the third, fourth, or fifth year of their course are eligible to apply.
PG Diploma in GST Law
A) BACHELOR’S DEGREE OR AN EQUIVALENT DEGREE IN ANY DISCIPLINE FROM ANY RECOGNIZEDUNIVERSITY;

B) CANDIDATES APPEARINGFOR THE FINAL YEAR EXAMINATION OF GRADUATION ARE ALSO ELIGIBLETO APPLY.
