PJTSAU – Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University was established in 2014 in Hyderabad, Telangana. The university has got wide programmes in its area of specialisation of agricultural with a variety of programmes such as agriculture, engineering and food technology. PJTSAU at present, has a total enrolment of 3,403 students and 539 faculties and staffs and is one of the prominent institution in the field of agricultural sciences at present.
A mission of the university is to give the state of art equipment that can supplement the learning requirements of the students. The central library at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University has an area of 4,645 sqm with more than 200000 books and has access of 500 Indian and foreign periodicals for providing immeasurable resources to the students and faculties for thesis and dissertation. The university thus as well provides well equipped laboratory for practical learning and research purposes. In terms of facilities for students living within and outside the hostels, PJTSAU has both shared male and female hostels to accommodate all students in all its campuses with sleeping facilities. It has a good information technology system that enhances teaching and learning methods together with the research. They all in one bring about the best facilities that foster academic achievement as well as individual growth.
Currently, the university teaches a total of 27 courses under 5 degree programmes related to agricultural sciences and its supporting fields of study. The college offers B.Tech programmes, M.Sc courses, Diploma courses and Ph.D. The academic programmes offered by this university is full time undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral learning and diploma courses.
All the programmes offered in PJTSAU comes under PAT and the admission procedure differs from one programme to another. B.Tech admissions are through the TS EAMCET scores for the respective stream, for some other specific programmes there are direct admissions. Conformable to the rule of reservation, the candidates are shortlisted according to their ranking in TS EAMCET.

B.Tech Food Technology
A pass in two year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with the following subjects namely:
- Physical Sciences
- Mathematics
A candidate should have studied in a Non-Municipal Area for at least four years between 1 st class to Intermediate or its equivalent.
Minimum ONE acre of land either in the name of the parents or in the name of the candidates. If the land is owned by grandfather, grandmother or guardian or any other relations is not acceptable.
The candidates for admission to these courses shall be required to have completed 17 years of age with an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates, 25 years in respect of SC and ST candidates and 27 years for Physically Handicapped candidates as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Diploma in Agriculture
Candidate should have passed SSC Examination conducted by State Board of Secondary Education, T.S./A.P. or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the Board of Secondary Education, T.S./A.P. such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), Telangana Open School Society(TOSS), A.P. Open School Society (APOSS), X Class Examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Science as one of the subjects, and obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
Candidates seeking admission should produce a certificate(s) from the Heads of Institution(s) that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas during their period of study from 1st class to 10th class (any four years).
Diploma in Seed Technology
Candidate should have passed SSC Examination conducted by State Board of Secondary Education, T.S./A.P. or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the Board of Secondary Education, T.S./A.P. such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), Telangana Open School Society(TOSS), A.P. Open School Society (APOSS), X Class Examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Science as one of the subjects, and obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
