Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana was established in the year 1962 and was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Late. Shri Jawaharlal Nehru. The PAU Ludhiana is ranked 1st amongst State Agricultural Universities and 3rd amongst Agriculture and Allied Sector by NIRF Ranking in the year 2024.
