The college was established in 1993. SPIHER, Chennai is a private university. The institution was previously known as St.Peter’s Engineering College which was established in the year 1993. The college offers courses at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level. Some of the SPIHER Diploma courses include Diploma in Animation 1 Year, Diploma in Animation, Diploma in Interior Design 1 Year, Diploma in Game Art and Digital Design 1 Year, Diploma in Game Art and Digital Design, Diploma in Visual Effects 1 Year, Diploma in Visual Effects, Diploma in Visual Communication and many more. Admissions to diploma programs are offered to candidates who have cleared class 12th from a recognised board. SPIHER, Chennai UG courses include BE/B.Tech and B.Sc, admissions to which are offered to candidates must have passed class 12th examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. The college also offers various PG courses, which include ME/M.Tech. admissions to PG courses are offered to candidates who must have Passed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% marks.
