Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Sambalpur was founded in August 1956 by the Odisha Government. The University is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur was formerly known as University College of Engineering which was placed under the Sambalpur University in 1967 and under BPUT in 2002.
Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur provides admissions to UG, PG, M.Phil and doctoral programmes. VSSUT grants admissions to B.Tech and B.Arch courses on the basis of JEE Main or OJEE scores while M.Tech admissions are finalised on the basis of GATE scores. For M.Sc, M.Phil and Ph.D courses, VSSUT conducts its own entrance examination.
According to the placement reports of 2023, the highest package offered at VSSUT was of Rs 47.38 per annum offered by Amazon SDE in B.Tech ETC. spread over an area of 502 acres offers several infrastructural facilities.
