The Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Kumulur, founded in 1992 is one of the constituent colleges situated in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. This esteemed institution is a branch of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and is offering education and enhancing research in the agriculture engineering field. Located on a large area of land of 274.43 acres, this college has got one programme of study only, the total number of students enrolled being 248.
The Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute offers state-of –art infrastructural facilities for both academic and research activities in the college. This makes it incredibly rich in books, containing 16,206 volumes of the outstanding array of books on Farm Machinery and Power, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering and Bio-Energy. The current facility’s Information Technology has been appropriately equipped with a computer laboratory of forty processors and wireless internet all over the compound. Students have a privilege to use modern laboratories where they can practice the project implementation process. The campus also features sporting facilities, a gym and an auditorium for the all round development of the students.
Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Kumulur, offers a single full-time course: Bachelor of Technology in Agricultural Engineering. This programme takes four years to complete and will equipped students with sound knowledge in agricultural engineering. The course content ensures a balance between concepts and their applicability currently and in future within the agricultural industry and market. Unfortunately, the number of seats provided for this programme is not outlined but given the total intakes for students in this faculty is 248 the capacity to enroll aspiring agricultural engineers is very large.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to a reserved category) in the above subjects. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
