Alwar Pharmacy College, the institution was set up in 2004, situated in Matsya Industrial Area, Alwar Rajasthan. This affiliated co-educational college recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has the following courses in the field of pharmacy: Situated in two and a Three acre land the college offers the total student enrolment of 518 students and it has 34 members in its faculty. Alwar Pharmacy College offers 7 courses comprising 4 degree levels for different branches of pharmaceutical science such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical chemistry etc.
The college has a policy of maintaining high standards of learning facilities having conducive facilities for students. The campus at present has well equipped laboratory like Pharmaceutics lab, Pharmaceutical chemistry lab, pharmaceutical analysis lab, pharmacology lab, pharmacognosy lab, Pharmaceutical biotechnology lab and Instrumental analysis laboratory. These facilities help the students to gain practical experiences and undertake a research in any area of pharmacy. College library is quite rich, containing the amount of more than 6 520 book copies and 872 titles, 14 magasine titles and 9 newspaper titles with subscriptions. For each of the students’ health needs, the college has provided facilities such as basketball, football, volleyball, cricket and athletics fields, besides a gym for exercises.
Alwar Pharmacy College provides all the pharmacy courses that can be imagined. The institute offer full time course like B.Pharma with 100 admission capacity, D.Pharma with 60 admission capacity and B.Pharma Lateral Entry with only 10 admission capacity. At the post graduate level the two courses offered are M.Pharma in specialisation in Pharmaceutical Chemistry having 9 seats. Pharmaceutics having 9 seats and Pharmacology having 6 seats. In accordance with these goals, the college has initiated M.Pharma programmes in Quality Assurance and Pharmacognosy and has also started the Ph.D. programme in Pharmacy.
The admission to Alwar Pharmacy College differs in respect of the different categories as mentioned below. In many cases like undergraduate courses offered in B.Pharma, the admission procedure depends on the merit of the qualifying exam. The existing M.Pharma programmes as specialisations such as Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacognosy accept scores in the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT). A national level entrance test and one of the important parameters for entering into postgraduate course of pharmacy.

B.Pharma
The candidate must have passed Senior Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Standard-XII of the Board or an examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto) in all the optional subjects and the compulsory subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science). Those who are appearing for the final year examination may also apply.

Ph.D Pharmacy
'Master’s Degree holders satisfying the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. program of the same Institution. Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
