AVASC inaugurated in the year 2009 is an Arts and Science college for both men and women named Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College, Thanjavur. This affiliated college is located in Tamil Nadu, India and this college covers a total of 12.48 of acres of the area. As ASVAC, currently it has 25 courses available in 9 kinds of degree programs from undergraduate to postgraduate. The college has the total enrolment capacity of 3074 students and 109 faculty members, and the optimal ratio of students to teachers is maintained.
This policy agreed to and supported by AVASC aims at creating a positive learning environment for its students. This college provides adequate amenities to support learning and development of the learners. These include; hostel for boys with a seating capacity of 154 and hostel for girls with a seating capacity of 256. The hostels also get to feed their students with healthy meals in clean environment and provide them with indoor and outdoor sport facilities to play in. The two sections in the college library that contain a relatively more and more extended list of books, journals, and e-resources are Science and Arts. For information technology gifted students, the campus; has both ERP and Wi-Fi internet connection.
In addition to this, AVASC has various disciplines with a full complement of offered courses comprehensively. University offers 25 courses in under graduate and 6 courses in post graduate level proffering fully fledged courses only. The college also offers doctorate degree courses in English, Commerce, Mathematics and Computer Science thus showing its interest in research and higher learning.
