Bagnan College, established in 1958, is an affiliated rural college based in Bagnan, West Bengal. This institution offers a wide range of undergraduate courses on a compact 1.15-acre campus. With a total enrolment of 5,365 students, the student body is 37% male and 63% female.
The institution has a number of facilities to enrich the learning environment for students. One of the key academic resources is the library, which has grown immensely in the stock of books, periodicals, and e-resources. It has undertaken the recent digital enlistment of all the available books by SOUL 2.0 software and created an Institutional Digital Repository with D-Space software. The college has well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science, and Information Technology for science students. It has an IT infrastructure spanning two halls with more than 30 PCs integrated with LAN and internet connectivity. A cafeteria that provides meals on subsidised rates, a health centre with first-aid facilities, a multi-gym, and sports facilities for outdoor games such as kho-kho, kabaddi, football, and volleyball are available within the campus.
The undergraduate courses in Bagnan College number 16, each being a full-time course. The student intake capacity of the college for all its courses is a total of 4,418.

A candidate must have passed HS/ISC/CBSE/NIOS or any equivalent examination of approved Boards. Also must have an English paper of 100 marks. For admission to any Hons course, an applicant must secure.
(i) 50% in each best four subjects together with a minimum of 45% in the subject sought for Hons.
OR
(ii) a minimum of 55% in the subject sought for Hons. (Note that 5% relaxation is allowed to SC/ST applicants in every case). For Hons in Economics, passing in Mathematics is necessary. Those who have passed with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics in the Science group, may apply for Hons in Accountancy.
BA English Hons
