Baharagora College, Baharagora was started in the year 1969, is one of the premier institutions in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. This constituent college includes the campus area of about 3.6 acres and has achieved the accreditation of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). NCTE approved college has authorised 27 courses of 9 degree programmes. The total number of students in B.C.E, Baharagora is 2968 with a faculty of 23 members most of the students are female 1485 while male students are 1311. undergraduate and postgraduate level education The institution offers degrees under different faculties namely Education, Commerce, Science and Arts faculties.

Baharagora College bears the responsibility of availing all the best learning environment to its students. Campus has adequate facilities to facilitate academic and co-curricular activities in order to enhance the students’ education. The college library is solely responsible for stocking books and other necessary resources that is required in the studies conducted by the students. To meet the practical learning of various science students, laboratories are well equipped to allow for adequate learning. IT facilities also are well developed in the college to enhance the students effective learning with up-to-date technologies. On this note it is rather convenient to inform that students have a cafeteria within the compound of the college. 

That is, all the major subjects under humanities, science, and commerce streams are taught in the college at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Of the 27 courses offered most of them are full time programmes in an attempt to meet the academic needs of the students. The college offers twenty one undergraduate programmes and six postgraduate programmes including Education, Commerce, Sciences and Arts faculties. 

The admission policy of Baharagora College also follows the marks scored in the other examinations and or entrance tests expected on the rules and regulations as prescribed by the state government and the university. One of the colleges offering the B.Ed program are enrolled based on their scores in the qualifying test or the entrance exam.
