Bapuji Polytechnic, Shabanur a premier technical institute started in 1985 is situated in Davangere, Karnataka. This affiliated college recognized by AICTE provides several diploma courses in different branches of engineering. Located on a small plot of an area of 4.125 acres, the institute has been registering a total enrolment of 865 students and 30 faculty members. The Bapuji Polytechnic being one of the pioneers technical institutions is dedicated to impart quality education by offering seven Diploma programs in various disciplines, especially pertinent to the ever changing industrial environment.
The Bapuji Polytechnic boasts of its well-endowed facilities for provision of academic and personal needs of students. The building that embodies knowledge or library as it is contains approximately 20000 technical text books 10 technical magazines available for students to make use of in their proposed learning process. Sports amenities are provided to try and increase physical activity, cooperation, and co-ordination as well as team work with the college fully endorsing students’ participation in district, state and inter-college competitions. The students benefit from the well-equipped IT and a specialised Computer Science Laboratory that keeps them posted on any IT developments.
Bapuji Polytechnic has a total of seven full time diploma programmes and all of them are of three years duration. A large number of engineering disciplines have been prepared at these programmes which includes Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology & Apparel Manufacturing Engineering.

For Technical(Engineering) Courses:should have passed Karnataka S.S.L.C or equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.
For Non-technical (Non-Engineering)Courses: a) Commercial Practice and Apparel Design & Fabrication Technology / Modern office Management Should have passed Karnataka S.S.L.C or Equivalent Examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate. b) Library Science and Information Management Should have passed Karnataka P.U.C-II or Equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.
