The Buddha college of teacher education was started in the year 2005 and it is one of the best teacher training college in Alappuzha, Kerala state. This coeducational college of women is affiliated to Kerala University and is designed for the training of teachers for him. The college is spread across 9 acres of land and is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in the field of teaching. Combined with an overall student enrolment of 103, and 18 faculty members Buddha College provides an intimate educational platform.
Establishment includes a complete set and variety of resources developed to facilitate learning and personal development of college students. Modern school library is equipped to support the needs of learners with relevant learning materials for research and learning. Buddha college of teacher education conducts its information technology to help students learn more about current advancements in the course. Advanced practical facilities are availed to provide practical experiences for the abstract concepts to be understood. Extra facilities include the college sports complex and an auditorium for functions and seminars. There is also separate hostels for male and female students to facilitate comfortable accommodation for students from far regions.

Admission to Buddha College of Teacher Education depends mostly on marks scored in examinations showing the college’s focus on education quality. In the case of the B.Ed and M.Ed programmes, the admissions are in accordance to the merit of the candidates as evident from the qualifying examination. On similar lines, the BE, ME, B.Pharma, M.Pharma admission is based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, as per the norms prescribed by the State Government/UT Administration for the D.El.Ed. The college also has an add-on course called Training and Placement Cell, to support the students get a job. Also, alumni association while active enhances relationship between former and current learners hence strengthening the teachers’ fraternity.
