The College of Teacher Education, Utnoor was established in the year 2008 as an affiliated college with the purpose of building the future of education. It is situated in the Adilabad district of Telangana, which is a blended college focused on the certificate courses for teachers approved by NCTE. This institute is located on a 5-acre campus and provides a favourable setting for budding educators. The college offers quality education to all students by providing a conducive learning environment for all students and qualified staff with 200 students in their college and staffed by 18 teaching faculties, which gives them a student-teacher ratio of 2:1.
This college has put in place various infrastructures meant to improve the learning achievement of the learners. A modern reading room contains a large number of reference texts and educational resources on the topics of teacher education, as well as numerous textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and periodicals for students’ use. The science and psychology laboratories provide work with several sets of apparatus for experiments and numerous kinds of psychological tests. As a way of trying to conform to modern education practices, the college has an IT base with a computer laboratory and an education technology laboratory that holds audiovisuals and overhead projectors, among others.
The College of Teacher Education, Utnoor, at present, provides only one course, namely, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). This is a two-year full-time course of 100 sanctioned intake strengths for quality teacher education for our institute. The B.Ed. programme has been designed with the aim of achieving the desired profession ability standards required in the teaching profession today. At the present time, the college offers only one degree; however, the institution shows concern for providing quality education in this particular niche.
