Cooch Behar Polytechnic, established in 1964, is one of the premier technical institutions in the district of Cooch Behar, West Bengal. This affiliated college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and offers various diploma courses. Spread across a sprawling 16-acre campus, the student enrolment of the institute is 800 in total, with a faculty strength of 37. There are a total of five different courses that Cooch Behar Polytechnic offers, out of which four are diploma courses and one is a D.Pharma course, oriented towards various engineering disciplines. Its infrastructure is well-equipped with resources, and the curriculum is certainly aligned to the needs of industry service.
Cooch Behar Polytechnic has various facilities to make the learning process more enjoyable. Library acts as a knowledge hub by allowing them an access to a huge amount of technical literature and other resources. Availability of sports facilities for physical well-being helps the students to maintain a fine balance between academics and sports. There is excellent IT infrastructure in the college, enabling the students to be at par with the ever-changing technological developments. The different departments are well equipped with laboratories to enhance practical experience. There is a health centre that has first-aid facilities to meet medical exigencies. More importantly, the institute has separate hostels for boys and girls to ensure a high standard of living for students from different zones.

Cooch Behar Polytechnic essentially has its admission process based on the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics, West Bengal, for the engineering diploma courses. Also, there is a provision for some courses to take students on the basis of the Vocational Lateral Entry Test.
