D.Banumaiah’s College of Commerce and Arts, whose founder was Bellettanaya Banumaiah in 1949, is situated in the heart of Mysore, Karnataka. This affiliated college, duly accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), has been moulding the young generation for more than seven decades. Located in a small space of 2 acres, the college provides a tailored learning environment for the 560 learners that it enrols. The college has a total of eighteen dedicated faculty members, and a strict student-teacher ratio enables the students to focus and deliver their best.
The college has, among other features, a number of facilities that can help the students both in their academic accomplishments and their character development. This is in addition to other amenities, which include a fully equipped library with more than sixty thousand, five hundred books, 75 reading rooms with journals, periodicals, and daily newspapers. For this reason, the Department of Commerce is proud to have its own departmental library to support commerce students. It can be implemented by looking at the college’s modern computerised computer lab with Internet facilities, which is expanded and improved regularly. For the language learners, it has the language laboratories for both Kannada & English majors, with an emphasis on the language development for communication. The audio-visual lab was used for various teaching methodologies, such as seminars and workshops as well as group discussions. Sports facilities are an important aspect of the campus, as is a canteen While an auditorium acts as a hall for events and seminars.
D. Banumaiah’s College of Commerce and Arts boasts four full-time programmes that are equally informative at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The undergraduate degrees comprise B.Com, BA, and BBA, programmes which take three years to complete. For the students who want more specialised knowledge, the college offers a two-year Masters of Commerce (M.Com.) course. According to the accreditation standards, all the courses must be full-time, so it is guaranteed that students will receive their educational expertise within their chosen specialised fields on a full-time basis.
