D J Academy of Design (DJAD), Coimbatore was set up during the year 2004, is one of the most refining institutes for designing in Tamil Nadu. Situated in a comfortable 24-acre land, this is affiliated college has been pioneering the design education for about a decade and a half. DJAD presently provides a diverse portfolio of design programs for both levels of academic study and hosts 2 degrees with total of 7 courses. The institute boasts of possessing four dedicated members of faculty who enable the students to have close adherence to faculty members.
DJAD campus has great amenities for creative, innovative and technical requirements of students at the campus. The library cum resource center comprises of virtually anything a learner would require and even more; books, films, music, computer films, product samples, etc. In quires separated with comfortable arm chairs, students have a current collection of foreign and Indian journals, magazines and a DATABASE of current journals. Media Lab is one of the highlights of DJAD’s facilities equipped with hardware and software fulfill the industry standard needs also the shooting floor to create efficient film and sound project. Students who would like to take part in sporting activities are able to do so within the compound since the college has outdoor facilities such as basketball court, football field and volleyball court and indoor table tennis, fully equipped gyms in both hostels.
DJAD provides all types of design courses for its students, right from a Bachelors to a Masters degree. The institute also offers Four Bachelors of Design full time B.Des programmes and three Masters of Design full time M.Des programmes. The B.Des programmes are spread over four years and the M.Des programmes are two year programmes. All programmes offered at DJAD are full-time to ensure that students get the best experience in the faculties.

However the admission process at DJAD is such that the talent is sought out and developed to the full potential. For undergraduate programmes the admission are directly related to the scores achieved in the 10+2 examination or its equivalent, along with an interview assessed by the academy. Applicants to postgraduate courses are evaluated on examinations conducted during their undergraduate programs and personal interviews. For M.Des User Experience Design program, DJAD has, therefore, developed its own entrance examination held in different metropolitan cities in India whose candidates are interviewed at the Coimbatore campus only. By embracing this approach, DJAD is confident of enrolling students with the academic ability as well as creativity.

M.Des Industrial Design
Possess an undergraduate degree of minimum 3 years duration in any specialization with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
Hold a full-time diploma of minimum 4 years duration in Design / Fine Arts / Applied Arts / Architecture with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, following from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
Condition: Applicants must have passed, appeared for, or be appearing for the Diploma examinations before July of the year of admission.
B.Des Industrial Design
Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent from any stream from any recognized State Board or Central Board like CBSE, ICSE etc. with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks.

Candidates should have passed a three year Diploma with 50% aggregate marks (After 10th Std) from any stream from an institution recognized by AICTE/State Govt.
Those who are appearing/appeared for these qualifying examinations before July of the year of admission to B.Des. can also apply
B.Des Communication Design
Candidates must have completed the 12th standard or its equivalent from any stream, recognized by State Boards or Central Boards (such as CBSE, ICSE, etc.), with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
Alternatively, candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma with 50% aggregate marks (after 10th Std) from any stream, from an institution recognized by AICTE/State Govt., are also eligible.
Those currently appearing for or have completed these qualifying examinations before July of the year of admission to B.Des. can apply.
M.Des Communication Design
