Darjeeling Government College is a premier institute founded in 1948 amidst the scenic beauty of Darjeeling, West Bengal. This affiliated college is located in a small plot area of 2.98 acres, which has been serving the region as a centre for learning through the pursuit of knowledge for over 70 years. The college recognised and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Darjeeling Government College has a vast talent base of facilities that attempts to enhance the education experience. College Library: A wide range of academic resources is available to students through the college library. College: This college has a compact Outdoor Sports Ground where there is a versatile area of 29 m x 16 m that makes various games or sports activities like Badminton, Volleyball or Basketball to be performed. Student common rooms and the multi-purpose lecture hall maintain indoor gaming facilities of sufficient numbers. The IT structure of the college doesn't let students be disconnected from modern technology. Moreover, students also gather in the canteen located on campus after class to take some fresh air and relaxation. The auditorium is the place where multifarious academic and cultural activities take place, having a seating capacity of 300. There exist 26 well-furnished labs attached to the different science departments of the college, through which students can have a firsthand experience of the teaching that takes place within the Physics, Botany, and Zoology department, among the others.
The college offers a total of 22 full-time courses which contribute to providing a highly diversified academic landscape since the courses offered by the college span three levels – undergraduate, postgraduate. The college imparts 19 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate courses to address the interest of the students in respective discipline areas supporting their career path. The college houses a strength of 2,143 students, thereby ensuring a vibrant and diverse learning exposure.
