Debnarayan Shiksha Sansthan B.Ed. College, established in 2013, Sonarpur, is a co-ed teacher training college in West Bengal, India. The type of the institution is affiliated and imparts teacher education programs. It has been approved by NCTE. This occupies a compact 1-acre campus. At present, the number of enrolled students is 317 and the sanctioned faculty is 27. This institute serves students for two full-time courses, B.Ed. and D.El.Ed., with a program intake of 200.
The college avails a number of facilities for students aiming to gear their learning experience. There is a library on the campus stocked with about 4,500 forms of books, periodicals, and journals. The library has also recently been computerized by implementing integrated Library Management Software KOHA, which facilitates students to access OPAC through Wi-Fi. This college features nine laboratories, with some being specialized labs available for Geography, Life Science, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Art and Craft, and Language; these are shared between the B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. programs. A large multipurpose hall is arranged with a seating capacity of 300 for an auditorium. Modern facilities such as an LCD projector, OHP, and sound system are installed in the large space. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled to provide access to the digital resources for the students.
Debnarayan Shiksha Sansthan B.Ed. College provides two regular courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). The time frame for both courses shall be two years. Courses have been designed to ensure high-quality professional careers in teaching and administration of education.

The whole system of the admission will be on merit basis as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations. The college has devised a holistic scoring method to prepare the merit list for admission in its B.Ed. course, where the performance of the candidate in the different academic levels has been considered. The maximum marks are: 20 for Madhyamik or its equivalent and Higher Secondary examinations, 20 for BA/BSc/BCom in the general or pass course and that of 30 for BA/BSc/BCom Hons. The various courses are as follows: (Honors), B.E./B. Tech, and M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. This will be testimony to the holistic evaluation of the candidate's academic journey. Admission to D.El.Ed course will be on merit-based marks of the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination made by the State Government/UT Administration's formulated guidelines.

B.Ed
- Candidates should be Graduates in a school subject from a recognized university.
- Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree (General) / or in the Master’s Degree in School subjects are eligible to apply.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission. Such candidates are required to enter the marks of B.E/B. Tech. in the row of Honors Degree. M.E. / M. Tech result (if any) will be entered in the Master’s Degree row.
- Honors Graduates in school subject should enter the Honors marks only in the row of Bachelor’s degree(Honors).
- In the case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects should be entered in the row of Bachelor’s degree (General).
- For candidates with less than 50% marks in the honors degree, the total marks of the pass and Honors subjects will be considered. If it becomes 50% or more, that score will be entered in the Graduation (General) row.
- For fresh candidates, the merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on scoring.
- For Deputed Candidates, a merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on length of service.
D.El.Ed
- Should be an Indian Citizen.
- Should pass the H.S(+2) Examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/Council/University with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. there is, however, a relaxation of 5% marks for the applicants belonging to SC/ST.OBC-A/OBC-B/PH/Ex-Serviceman categories. Where there are no aggregate marks,50%/45% of the total of the best five scores excluding EVS for eligibility will be counted.
- Should not be above 35 years of age (40 years of age for SC/ST.OBC-A/OBC-B/PH) as of 01.07.2017.Note 1: This upper age is not applicable for the in-service teachers, appointed before 03.09.2001. Note 2: Ex-Serviceman candidate shall get the benefit of age relaxation as per rule.
- Must have studied the language at the Higher Secondary level as a compulsory subject for which medium of instruction he/she will be applying for admission. The Second language must be English.
