The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, Srinagar was established din 2009; it is a constituent college exclusively devoted to pharmaceutical education and research. This co – educational institution is established in one of the stunning city of Srinagar which has gained reputation for excellence in pharmacy education. You furthermore approve the department by All India Council for Technical Education, which stands for high level of education. The department has 8 faculties and currently delivers 3 specialised courses at three different degree levels for the fresh pharmacists and researchers.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has offered a number of equipped facilities to facilitate its academic activities. Based in the college, the college library acts as a source of key pharmaceutical literature as well as other resources. Modern well-equipped chemical laboratories and research laboratories with modern facilities are used for various practical sessions for the students in different fields of pharmaceutical sciences. The department employs Information Technology to ensure the students stay connected and to facilitate availability of learning resources. To the students who need to be accommodated, there are hostel facilities for boys and girls respectively and are safe and comfortable. It also has an auditorium to accommodate college activities such as seminars, symposiums and other academic oriented meetings among college learners and instructors.
On this basis, the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers a vast array of courses. The institute offers three full-time programmes: B.Pharma with 4-years, M.Pharmacy with two years and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with 6-years. B.Pharma programme has an approved intake capacity of 33 seats and for M.Pharm programme the intake capacity is 19.

B.Pharma
The Candidate should 10+2 science academic stream with Physics, Chemistry. Mathematics or Biology.

Diploma in Pharmacy from PCI approved institution.
M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Sciences
Passed Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. Obtained at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.
Ph.D Pharmaceutical Sciences
Master’s Degree holders satisfying the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the same Institution.
Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.
