Don Bosco College was established in Tura in 1987 and currently is an affiliated college in Meghalaya in India. Located on 2.62 acres of land, this institution has the ability of delivering a wide spectrum of programmes in the undergraduate level in every known field. It is particularly important that the college has an overall enrolment figure of 1,809 learners and a faculty of 77 which means that the students have adequate contact with the teachers most of the time mostly in small classes. The college teaches 18 courses in seven degree programmes it provides arts, sciences, commerce and computer applications.
However, the Don Bosco College is well equipped with several customer service enhancing organisational facilities. The library is enriched with over 26000 volumes and 15 journals, necessary to study and create optimum atmosphere for students. Physics, chemistry and biology labs are well equipped to enable students practically explore science subjects. It also has a computer center having Acces to the facility is sixty computers and an internet cafe with the capacity of forty terminals availabl for students in order to meet the ICT challenges in the society. To the sporting activities the institution provides an aba-court, playing fields for basketball and volleyball and various sporting activities. Separate hostels for boys and girls are provided with comfortable accommodation for up to 120 boys and 120 girls.
The Don Bosco College, Tura has an undergraduate programme that consist of 18 programmes offered in different fields. These are full programmes offered in Arts (BA), Science (B.Sc), Commerce (B.Com), Computer Applications (BCA), and Business Administration (BBA). It offers both ordinary and honours programmes with specialisation in English, History, Education, Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy, Geography, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Zoology, botany etc.
