Dumkal Polytechnic, Basantapur College, was established in the year 2002. It is a reputed technical institute in Murshidabad, West Bengal. This is a co-educational institute that offers diploma courses in various engineering disciplines at the undergraduate level on this 5-acre campus. Dumkal Polytechnic, Basantapur, being approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, has gained certain significant grounds in the field of technical education. The enrolment of the institute comes to approximately 369 students a year, attended to by 32 faculty members, thus offering a good student-teacher ratio for personal attention and effective learning.
The Institute has huge facilities to make the studying experience an enriching one. There are two separate hostels within the campus, one for boys and another for girls, providing them a comfortable and congenial living environment for out-station students. Dumkal Polytechnic also has sports and a gymnasium on the campus, along with a health centre having first-aid services.
