Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management was established in 2002. It is one of the best institutions in Durgapur. This affiliated college, whose approval has been made by All India Council for Technical Education and is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, offers different programs in engineering and technology. Located on a vast 11.93-acre campus, DIATM has a total student enrolment of 1,290 and a faculty strength of 39. DIATM aims to provide its students with world-class facilities that will help enrich their learning experience further. The institute has a well-stocked central library measuring 13,815 sq. It has a vast collection of over 35,000 volumes in Engineering and 3,500 titles. The Library is fully automated with barcode facilities and subscribes to 54 national and 23 international journals. For practical exposure, DIATM has well-equipped laboratories for different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, specialized engineering fields, etc. Also, the campus is fully equipped with the latest IT infrastructure, having the latest servers and leased-line internet connectivity. This includes sports facilities, a multi-gymnasium, and separate hostels for boys and girls. All the hostels are having Wi-Fi connectivity.
In total, this institute is offering 6 courses 5 full-time B.Tech programs and 1 full-time MCA program. For all the courses, a total of 240 students' intake is approved, wherein B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering has the highest intake of 90 students. The other B.Tech programs in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering have 30 seats each, and the MCA program has 60 seats.

The admission procedure at DIATM is mainly based on merit. The approved intake for B.Tech programs is filled through the rank in the state's JEE. However, some seats can be up to 10% of the approved intake capacity, based on the rank in JEE Main. The institute also has provisions for lateral entry admissions through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) for diploma holders in engineering. DIATM considers various entrance exams that include JEE Main and WBJEE among others. The institute ensures a proper admission process so that fairness and transparency are maintained while selecting applicants.
