Gayatri College of Pharmacy, Sambalpur (GCP) among the leading institution providing education in the field of Pharmacy. This affiliated college was set up in the year 1986; the college is situated at ‘’ Jamadarpali, Sambalpur, Odisha. GCP has got accreditation from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) demonstrating its creed to uphold regard for education. The college is situated in 5-acres and consist of 6 courses offered in 2 degree levels, total enrolment are 485 students. GCP has faculty strength of 30 and hence student faculty ratio is an advantage and helpful for the student and his growth.
Gayatri College of Pharmacy has developed a number of functional amenities with an aim of improving the experience of learners in college. The library is a storehouse of information for the college, stocked with a large number of books, magazines and journals relating to pharmaceuticals and other subjects. It also offers resources such as CDs, manuals, and software as well as internet amenity for enhanced search information. With the subject area having 13 highly developed laboratories, fully furnished with advanced technologies and safety features. These labs have ceramic floor tiles resistant to acidic surfaces, gas supply connection, and anti-fire equipment and all these tower over the possibilities of fire outbreak and its disastrous results during course work. To enhance students convenience GCP has provided hostels for boys and girls within the city to encourage students from different parts of India to learn within the institution.
The Gayatri College of Pharmacy prepares students in various fields of pharmaceuticals. The college offers one undergraduate programme, B.Pharma is of 100 seats and four postgraduate programmes in specialised areas of pharmacy. Some of these M. Pharma programmes are; Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality assurance, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology which take 18 students each, apart from M.Pharma in Pharmacognosy which takes 9 students. All courses are full time, therefore reflecting the institutions emphasis on compressed, practical training. The total approved intake in all programmes is 163 students and this is evidence of the college’s ability to produce a number of future pharmacists.

In its admission process, Gayatri College of Pharmacy is able to choose suitable and hard working students for its diverse courses. In the case of B. Pharma programme contenders have to take the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) scores are considered by the college. Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. program of the same Institution.
Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D.programme.
