The Goa College of Arts at Panaji was started in the year 1972 to foster arts education in the beautiful land of Goa that is also famous for its beaches. This institutional affiliate college is situated in Altinho, Panaji, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This campus occupies a total acreage of 0.444 of an acre and is a dominant place of creativity. The college currently has a total of 204 students and 13 faculty members give a small environment to learn in. This institution is comprised of 5 courses in 2 fields with a focus on Applied Art and Painting at both the Bachelors and Master levels.
Goa College of Arts has a number of amenities that are meant to supplement learning as well as promote innovation. Modern computer laboratory is well utilised as design assembly area and students are trained in computer skills. The Art library has over 10, 000 books and is truly a centre for knowledge for anybody interested in art. For a physical aspect the college provides a gym and sports center. This auditorium plays various events and seminars where may be possible to see the art and to listen to the work. The college has also made provision for the needs of accommodation where the boys are accommodated at the Government Quarters and the girls at the Govt. Polytechnic Girls Hostel, Altinho, Panaji.
An aggregate of 5 course is offered by the Goa College of Arts and all these are the full time bachelors courses. These are 3 under part and 2 post part courses. The BFA programmes take 4 years while the MFA programmes are 2 year programmes. The college’s total approved intake according to various programmes offered by the institute is up to 70 hence adequate care and support for every learner.

The admission criteria for admission to Goa College of Arts are competitive and detailed and are based on merit. For undergraduate programmes, the college administers an Aptitude Test equivalent to 50% of the aggregate score in merit. The remaining 50 per cent is based upon the percentile score obtained by them in the qualifying examination.

BFA Applied Art
Nationality: Admission to professional courses in the State of Goa is open to Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passports may also apply for seats reserved under the NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admission to seats under the NRI Category. Foreign Nationals and Persons of Indian Origin holding non-Indian passports must apply to Govt. of India.
Age: No age limit for admission to the B.F.A. Course has been prescribed.
Educational Qualification:
A) To be eligible for admission to the First Year of the Degree of Bachelor of Fine Art, a candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination obtaining at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST & OBC only) at the qualifying examination i.e. H.S.S.C. conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an examination of any other University or Body recognized as an equivalent thereto with English as a subject.
B) The candidate must have passed all the subjects of the Aptitude Test conducted by the College. The minimum passing mark is 35% in an individual head. This Aptitude Test is conducted at the time of admission.
BFA Painting
Nationality: Admission to professional courses in the State of Goa is open to Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories.
