Goa Medical College (GMC), Panaji was established in 1842. It is Asia’s oldest medical college. GMC Panaji is an affiliated college of Goa University, Taleigao Plateau, Goa. The college was renamed as Goa Medical College in 1963. The college provides courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. GMC Panaji courses cover MBBS, B.Sc, BPT, BOT and B.Optom programmes at the UG level, MD, MS and PGD programmes in various specialisations at the PG level and an M.Ch programme in Neurosurgery at the doctoral level.

Candidates seeking admission to the college must satisfy the basic eligibility criteria. GMC Panaji admissions are done on the basis of rank in NEET, NEET-PG and NEET-SS examinations at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels respectively. The cutoff for various courses ranges due to a number of influential factors. The college also provides many facilities for students on its campus. Goa Medical College Location

The college is located in NH-17, Bambolim in the Panaji district of Goa state. The college is well-connected through all means of transport. The nearest airport to GMC Panaji is the Goa International Airport which is located at a distance of around 22 km. Students can hire a cab or auto and reach the college campus from the airport. The nearest railway station is the Dabolim Station which is about 8 km away from the Goa Medical College, Panaji. Panjim Bus Stand is the nearest bus stand to the college at a distance of about 11 km.

MBBS

The Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XIIth) examination of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English and secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology has taken together. 40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only and 45% for applicants belonging to PH category.
