Gobindapur Sephali Memorial Polytechnic was established in the year 2010. It is an affiliated college at Gobindapur, West Bengal. The institution is approved by AICTE and covers an area of 5 acres. It offers various diploma courses in the stream of engineering. This GSMP provides focused learning with a total student enrolment of 1,071 and faculty strength of 58. The polytechnic offers seven courses across various engineering specialisations: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Computer Science and Technology.
Gobindapur Sephali Memorial Polytechnic has many facilities that are quite modern to support its academic programmes. Well-equipped laboratories and workshops are abound in the campus, matching its curriculum, which also provides ample opportunities for hands-on learning to the students. The college library, set up in a spacious 5000 sq ft hall with an accommodation capacity of 180 students, is well maintained. It has a huge collection of printed resources. For accommodation, it provides separate hostels for both boys and girls with modern facilities and security round the clock. The standard of the IT infrastructure at this institute is very good. There is a dedicated 1 Gbps internet mainline with a network backbone consisting of CAT6 cables. This helps in the smooth connectivity of all computers and access points to the internet within the campus.
The tenure of the different diploma courses is of three years, which enables the students to have an all-rounded technical education in their respective fields.

The admission process in GSMP is mainly based on the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal (JEXPO). This is a state-level entrance examination, taken as an entrance to the various diploma programs offered in polytechnics for aspiring students.
