Government Akhandanand Ayurved College, Ahmedabad, was established in the year 1965. It is one of the oldest institutions that impart the learning of Ayurveda. This affiliated college, situated at the heart of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, is approved by CCIM. The institute compactly covers 0.5823 acres, providing a focused learning environment. The institution has a good student-teacher ratio, and there is a total enrolment of 335 students, with a faculty strength of 33.

The institute offers 5 full-time courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The most nobility and the flagship program of the institution is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, which is the very backbone of Ayurveda education. At the postgraduate level, it offers specialized MD and MS courses in various Ayurvedic disciplines.
