Attingal Government College was started in the year 1975 which is located at Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. This affiliated college of deemed university got accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and it provides plethora of courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Located in a 14.77-acre complex, the college offers total number of enrollments for 790 and employs faculty of 29 members. There are 11 courses taught under 7 degrees offered and focusing on topics like Economics, History, Commerce and Polymer Chemistry. With a strong focus on gender diversity, the college has a notable female-to-male student ratio of 3:1; of these, 83% are undertaking undergraduate courses while the rest 17% are in postgraduate courses.

Accommodation College provides accommodation in the hostel to female forms of students ensure their safety while in the college. It also has an Auditorium for conducting various programmes and seminar and hence increase the college cultural activities.

Government College, Attingal operates an open admission system for all candidates who have met the required Standard Level of Education. The college currently allows some flexibility to students regarding the time they can apply for admission and therefore the students are encouraged to visit the college website or the admission office to get the most current information on the application process.

BA Economics
A person, who has passed in Higher secondary examination with Arts papers or equivalent.
BA History
A person who has passed in Higher secondary examination with Arts papers or equivalent.
MA Economics
A candidate who has passed a Degree in Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics with a minimum of 45% of the total mark.
Ph.D Economics
Master’s Degree holders satisfying the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. program of the same Institution.
Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
B.Com
A Candidate should pass in Higher secondary with three Commerce papers or equivalent.
M.Com
A candidate who has passed a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with a minimum of 45% of the total mark.
Ph.D Commerce
Master’s Degree holders satisfying the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.

A person who has passed Higher secondary with three Science papers or equivalent.
