Government Degree College, Gajwel, was started in the year 1997 and is an affiliated college situated in Gajwel, District Nalgonda. This institution is a self-financed and autonomous college, situated on 41.19 acre area, which is accredited with the NAAC. The college delivers 17 courses within 4 degree programmes with overall capacity of 814 students enroled. The college has 18 members in its faculty and thus, offers an ideal student-teacher ration for its students.

At postgraduate level, the college provides Master of Commerce (M.Com) course at its Padur campus Ashtamichira. The total student enrolment for all the courses offered is 792 of which 734 are students in the undergraduate studies programme and 80 in postgraduate studies.
