Government Law College, Alwar found in 2005 is one of the recognised colleges for legal education in Alwar, rajasthan. Located near the Central Jail Chauraha this affiliated college is in the business of moulding future lawyers for nearly two decades. The college is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for having a small campus area just 2-acre to provide a proper environment for legal education. Currently the college has a universal enrolment of 680 first year, second and third year students and a faculty of 9 distinguished scholars.
The Government Law College claimed to have provided basic infrastructure that makes a positive impression to the learners. The library plays a role of well stocked place of numerous books, journals and online resources assist the legal learning process at the college. The auditorium also undergoes different activities including seminars, guest lectures besides providing the students with the diversified outlook of the legal profession. Understandably, the college also gives heed to a sound body, through provision of sporting amenities for muscular development as well as fostering camaraderie among students.
As for now, the Government Law College, Alwar has only one flagship programme which is the Bachelor of Laws (LLB). This is a full time course offered for three years and aims at offering the student a broad base of many facets of the law. Although the number of seats has not been stated point blank, the total student off take capacity of the college is 680 which implies that the batch size at least for each year is pretty big. The LLB programme was therefore structured to impart the necessary theoretical content and procedural expertise to enable the learner to practice law professionally.
Government Law College, Alwar does not have a structured admission process itself but claims that it is very much involved in ensuring that any candidates who would wish to be admitted to this college would be admitted fairly without having to go through the ordeal of passing through many examinations and screening processes as it is observed in most colleges in other parts of the country.

- Candidate Seeking admission into 3-year law course qualifications needed are only 12th and three-year graduation, with 12th being the basic qualification for seeking admission into 3-year law course,
- The qualifications of 10th, 12th (+2), and graduation may be obtained through any mode (distance/correspondence / open schooling method).
- And the Pass percentage is 45% for the general category, 42% for the OBC category, and 40% for SC/ST category.
