Government Polytechnic, Adityapur founded in 1980, is one of the polytechnic institutes of the state government which is situated in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. This affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offers diploma in various fields of engineering. Located in a 10 acres, total intake of the institute is 554 students with a faculty of 4 teachers. Government Polytechnic, Adityapur offers 4 full time diploma courses in different specific stream of engineering like Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering for the students suitable to the different interest areas among the students.

Admissions in Government Polytechnic, Adityapur are conducted mainly on the basis of ranking acquired in Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECEB).
