Government Polytechnic College Neyyattinkara is eyecatching technical college which was started in 1991 at Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala state. This affiliated college of Bangalore University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and provides for array of diploma courses in several fields of engineering. Located in 10.79 acres of land the college has total enrolment capacity of 631 students and faculty strength of 34 members. Conducive with its aim of technical education, the institute offers five important diploma courses that will enhance positive aspect of competitive skills and theoretical information required in today’s rapidly changing technological Connection State.

The Government Polytechnic College believes in providing a learning environment with access to best services and state of art equipment. Located at the centre of the Institute is a modern Library and Information Centre which was overhauled in 2004 by the integration of an automated library system. This one is reported to be one of the few technical libraries in Kerala that is fully computerised; it uses the D.C. number system; and has Internet facilities for the use of its clients. The college also has well-equipped department Laboratories that include state-of-art facilities to allow students full practical experience. Other features include an auditorium for event and seminars, a canteen for staff and students, a well stocked gym. This institute also fosters very strong IT-enabling facilities, which enables the student to keep pace with the growing technologies.

Three years full time diploma courses are offered by Government Polytechnic College, Neyyattinkara in total five specialties. These programmes cover a wide range of specialisation areas in engineering to afford students wide career choices such as computer science and engineering.

It is a governmental institution so it may have some standard norms of admission of the state education technical department.
