Government Polytechnic for Women, Sirsa was established in 1985 as a premier technical institution in Sirsa in the state of Haryana. This exclusively women-only polytechnic college is spread over a sprawling campus of 16 acres and is firmly steeped in the mission of imparting quality technical education to aspiring women engineers. The institute offers various diploma programs in different branches of engineering and is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi. With a total student enrolment of 434 and a faculty strength of 17, it ensures personalized attention and quality education. Its commitment to technical education is further underlined by the various courses it offers in five specialized fields keeping in view the changing requirements of the industry.
The college has provided an array of facilities to enhance the learning experience and overall development of the students. The well-stocked library has over 10,000 books related to the curriculum and general knowledge and subscribes to three journals. Departmental laboratories are provided by the Government Polytechnic for Women institue to enable the students to test the theoretical learning through experiments. There is a girls hostel for out-station students, providing them with a safe and healthy living environment. First-aid facilities and a gym keep up health and wellness. It also provides sports facilities to enable a student to blossom into a wholesome personality. Keeping pace with the changing times, the institute has excellent IT infrastructure and campus-wide Wi-Fi connectivity. Passed 10th Std./ SSC examination. Obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
Diploma in Architectural Assistantship
Pass in 10th examination from the Board of School Education, Haryana, or equivalent examination from a recognized board/ university with 35% marks (33% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category or Kashmiri Migrants Category)
Compulsory pass in Maths & Science subjects. – (Subject to change by State Govt. decision if any)
Lateral Entry
All those candidates who have passed ITI at least two years (who passed 10th level school-leaving examination before admission to ITI courses), 10+2 (vocational), or 10+2 with PCM would be eligible for consideration for lateral entry in the session and various Diploma Engineering courses only as per the compatibility of the courses as mentioned in the prospectus of DET/DET(L)-2016.
Candidates who have appeared/ are appearing in the qualifying ITI or 10+2 with PCM or 10+2 vocational examination to be held during a current session shall also be eligible to apply for admission subject to the condition that the candidate proves his/her eligibility criteria at the time of reporting at the allotted institute.
