Government Polytechnic West Champaran (GP West Champaran) was established in 2016. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education Patna. The list of GP West Champaran courses includes Diploma in Engineering programmes in four branches of Engineering namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering. 

Aspiring candidates must make sure to fulfil the eligibility criteria before applying to the institute. GP West Champaran admissions are done based on DCECE and DECEC LE for regular and lateral admissions respectively. 

GP West Champaran facilities include spacious classrooms, a computer centre, a library, two boys' hostels, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and a health centre. GP West Champaran placements are managed by the training and placement cell of the institute. The cell is responsible for conducting placement drives at the institute and providing training and counselling to students.
