GP Women’s College, Imphal at the centre of Manipur, is a constituent and premier college in Manipur which started its journey in 1965. Along the sprawling 4 acres of the land, this prestigious college for women has been striving for the impartation of education in the region for more than five decades. The college has a total of 2500 students and 102 members of staff The college teaches 29 different courses in six degree programmes, which major in arts and sciences.
Many facilities can be found in GP Women’s College, Imphal with an aim of improving the learning process of the students in the institution. The mainstay of academics is a well stocked library where books ranging from general interest, to academic texts, text books, periodicals, journals and magazines are stored. The study rooms are well equipped and fairly large, complex, and comfortable so that students can study individually or in groups. For those with an interest in sports and physical activity there is the College provides an indoor and outdoor sports facilities. There is an Indoor Stadium, a Basketball court, and a Main Hall in the campus which make the students to also develop a sports culture.
Currently, the institution provides 29 courses which include undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Students at the undergraduate level can take a four year course to earn a BA and B.Sc in various programmes such as Business Administration, Marketing, Information Systems, Accounting, Project Management, Health Services Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management among others.

The admission process in GP Women’s College involves almost all the admission being on a merit basis, for the under graduate courses the selection is done depending on the marks in the 10+2 exam. However, for some of the programmes the college has CUET UG CUT off in addition to the conventional percentage calculation.
